Catalyzing climate education with open resources and practices - and being an open ambassador

Following up on my OE Global '24 conference session, I’m glad to share this blog post invited for the #GoOpen network about the vital role for open educational resources and practices in building more effective climate action.

It closes with a recent success I’ve had in being an ambassador for OER/OEP into adjacent spaces, leading to a wonderful new resource being licensed and shared as OER. What opportunities might we all have for being ambassadors for this work we love?

Thanks for sharing your post, Curt.

I invite readers here to link on through to find a reading with even more links to inspiring climate education efforts-- it would be great to hear from readers here if you have experience with MIT’s Climate Justice Instructional Toolkit, the En-ROADS climate simulator and more on the MIT Climate Portal.

And as a note of reference, Curt described his OEGlobal 2024 Conference session on An Ethos of Open Meets the Climate Emergency which is itself an outgrowth of a workshop Curt provided with Richard Sebastian at the OEGlobal 2023 conference - the notes from the workshop are openly shared see OE Global 2023 workshop notes: Open Climate Knowledge Community of Practice - Google Docs
