Dr. Jhangiani is the Acting Vice Provost, Teaching & Learning and Associate Vice Provost, Open Education at [Kwantlen Polytechnic University](https://www.kpu.ca/) in British Columbia, where he formerly served as Special Advisor to the Provost on Open Education and a Psychology Instructor.
Together with Robin DeRosa, he co-founded the [Open Pedagogy Notebook](http://openpedagogy.org/). He serves on the BC Open Education Advisory Committee, as an [Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of OER](https://www.icde.org/knowledge-hub/icde-oer-advocacy-committee) for the International Council on Open & Distance Education, an Advisory Buddy with [Virtually Connecting](http://virtuallyconnecting.org/), and on the editorial board of [Ubiquity Proceedings](https://www.ubiquityproceedings.com/about/).
He previously served as an Open Education Advisor and Senior Open Education Research & Advocacy Fellow with [BCcampus](https://bccampus.ca/), an OER Research Fellow with the [Open Education Group](https://openedgroup.org/), a Faculty Workshop Facilitator with the [Open Education Network](https://open.umn.edu/oen), an Associate Editor of [Psychology Learning & Teaching](https://journals.sagepub.com/home/plj)and [NOBA Psychology](https://nobaproject.com/), and an Ambassador for the [Center for Open Science](https://www.cos.io/).
He is the architect of the [Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC)](https://www.kpu.ca/open/ztc) initiative at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. It is a first-of-its-kind in Canada program that allows students to choose from over 800 courses or one of seven complete credentials–from one-year Certificate programs to a full Bachelor’s degree–with zero textbook costs. Since the launch of the ZTC initiative in 2018, students at KPU have saved over $5 million in textbook costs. Rajiv has published research on the [perceptions](http://www.irrodl.org/index.php/irrodl/article/view/3012) and [efficacy](https://ir.lib.uwo.ca/cjsotl_rcacea/vol9/iss1/5/) of OER, as well as [patterns of OER adoptions](http://www.irrodl.org/index.php/irrodl/article/view/3723).
