I am honored to be a candidate for the OEGlobal Board of Directors 2026, representing Palestine and the wider Arab/MENA region.

My vision is to support open education as a pathway to equity, inclusion, and resilience, especially for learners and educators in marginalized and crisis-affected contexts. I am particularly interested in advancing responsible AI in open education, strengthening OER/OEP capacity, and increasing the voice of underrepresented regions within OEGlobal.

I would be grateful to hear your questions, ideas, and expectations from candidates. I believe this discussion is an important opportunity to listen, learn, and build together.

It is a powerful slate of candidates, and we are impressed that a number of our Advocate members have stepped forward to be on the board.

In addition to my vision, I would like to share a few of my contributions to the Open Education community:

  • Led the UNESCO-funded OER SMART Project, promoting Open Educational Resources (OER) adoption and capacity building across Palestine and Jordan. UNESCO OER SMART Project Video
  • Invited as an expert by UNESCO to contribute to regional OER initiatives and capacity-building activities.
  • Teach the Open Educational Resources (OER) course in the Master’s Program in Educational Technology and E-Learning at Al-Quds Open University.

I look forward to collaborating with the OEGlobal community to further strengthen open education worldwide.
