The OEGlobal24 Organising Team is delighted to announce that Professor Penny Jane Burke, UNESCO Chair in Equity, Social Justice, and Higher Education, will deliver one of the three keynote addresses at the 2024 OE Global Conference. Professor Burke is a distinguished scholar and leader in the field of equity and social justice in higher education, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to transformative education. I’m extremely excited about Penny joining us. The Committee met with her on Monday and discussed the scope, tone, and general overview of her keynote, as well as her wealth of experience.
Australia hosts a few UNESCO Chairs, and ‘Equity, Social Justice, and Higher education’ was a perfect match for OEP; Penny was also conversant in OER so it’s on her radar.
Before the conference, Penny will have a new book released, so stay tuned. We’ll provide details and links once it is published.
