I just came across this extensive repository of materials, nicely named “The Commons,” of free online (and often CC licensed) materials to learn about and build skills and insights for social change, advocacy and justice efforts. The team behind it looks to be Australian.
A couple of highlights from my initial explorations
Thanks Curt, that collection is impressive with over 1500 in depth articles, guides, organized into categories, and I like its collection of collections.
My thoughts go to how do you use them? The content is largely open licensed but reuse looks manual. Wonder if anyone has built a series of lessons/activities around them? Seems also ripe for social annotation.
Not to go license quibbling, but the articles have an overall license, but not clear if/how it applies to media within.
And some might suggest hitching it to a local/ open LLM to maybe turn a larger set of static content into something dynamic.
But mostly thanks for sharing, especially for having a resource with a focus on Australia (and looks like UK) perspectives.

That’s a great find, Mark! And this I feel too:
Conference organisers tend to be focused on the core logistics of delivering the conference and have limited capacity to curate resources.
Curation is what we all can do as participants and the wording of “reporting” gets me thinking about how to consider gathering mini “updates” from across sessions. I have been mulling how to get shared note taking going.
