Associate professor and Vice-Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering | Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). She is a permanent member of the Postgraduate Program in Biomedical Engineering – UFPE. Coordinator of the Research Group – SABER – Educational and Social Technologies and UNA-SUS at UFPE. Researcher with a scholarship in Productivity and Technological Development and Innovative Extension - Level 2 (CNPq - National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). ICDE Member and ICDE OER Advocacy Committee, Member. Associate researcher at the LAIS/UFRN.
Interests
Open and Distance Education - involves the study on open access to education and training, offering flexible learning opportunities to individuals and groups of learners.
Technological assisted instruction and Social Technologies - Involves the study of the educational needs of population groups in school and non-school environments, the development of new media to support face-to-face and online education and the assessment of the impacts of technology use on educational services. Research and development of applications that support and massively benefit the digital inclusion of different population groups and, consequently, help in improving their living conditions. This research line is in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Brazilian Ministry of Education and linked to Agenda 2030 (SDG 3 and 4).
