About the images in this campaign:
There are 100s of 1,000s of Images of Australia on Wikimedia Commons. But rather than have you troll through historical and mediocre images, these are the few that have reached either quality, featured or value status.
They are drawn from these categories:
About the ISA Tool:
This campaign is run on the ISA Tool* - the ISA Tool was created as a game to improve the information of each image on Wikimedia Commons by harnessing human power. Using structured data, players of the “game” determine what is depicted in each image file on Wikimedia Commons and link that to an existing Wikidata item. This makes it much easier for people to find an already existing image when they want to illustrate an article on the Wikimedia projects – or beyond, say for education purposes – see what I did there!
For bonus points, you can also add to the description of each image and translate it into any language you are fluent in.
Important note: you have to be signed into Wikimedia to play! Create an account here; or login here.
