I’ve just tested Jev, from Typesafe, launch this week. It’s truly extraordinary.
Jev is a model that allows you to analyze discursive texts, such as essays, articles, and reports, with performance far superior to current models (even the most advanced ones), at an incredibly faster speed and at a surprisingly lower cost.

Twitter/X is on fire about Jev, and it’s fascinating to see that there are already hundreds of use cases for a project that is literally three days old.
What seems especially interesting to me is cheap/fast/reliable computer use. We’ll see how these “system one thinking” models evolve…
Not to speak for Mauricio but my guess would be that Jev can be useful in education, like his demo project showed. Many folks here use Mac/Windows (not open either), and a mix of both proprietary and open solutions. “As open as possible, as closed as necessary.”
Also, for those interested, it took literally only hours for open Jev alternatives to pop up. So the internet is working exactly as intended…
