June 9 is CAPLA's International Day of Recognition

Thanks to a tip from @PerrineCoet we are happy to share an all day, online, free event for those interested in prior learning assessment for recognition of learning. Canadian Association for Prior Learning Assessment (CAPLA) is hosting a series of events all day on June 9 for International Recognition Day.

CAPLA is proud to invite you to the first International Day of Recognition on June 9th! This event will become an annual celebration of the contributions of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and other inclusive forms of recognition to the advancement of individual development and learning across all walks of life.

The day will be celebrated worldwide through a variety of online events, presentations and testimonials. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about the recognition of learning and to share our experiences worldwide, as a witness to its deep contribution to global justice and opportunity.

This is indeed a global event, we spotted a program of Australasian activities organized by the Australasian Microcredential Network as International Day of Recognition: Stories of Learning, Recognition and Possibility

As part of the global International Day of Recognition (June 9) led by CAPLA, join us for a 90-minute Australasian session exploring the power of recognising learning in all its forms.

This informal, community-driven session is an open invitation to come together, share stories, and reflect on how recognition is shaping learning, work, and opportunity across different contexts.

By “different contexts,” we mean learning across all of life, in formal education, in the workplace, through community and volunteering, and in the everyday experiences that build skills, capability, and identity. This session is designed as an open and curious space to explore how these forms of learning are recognised, valued, and made visible.
