Site-wide safety

What are we doing to protect your privacy?

#OEGlobal21 is run entirely by the Open Education Global team and its co-hosts. The technology and information is managed in-house. We have provided links to the terms of use and privacy policies of each of these services for you to review; the links can be found throughout this post and in the summary at the end. We also put requirements in place to help ensure that these service providers protect and handle personal information with care. For example, we have worked with Remo to minimize access to participant data.

Will I be recorded?

Event participants or attendees will not be recorded. Only speakers, co-presenters and session chairs, will be recorded when they are presenting. The recordings and content will be recorded on Zoom and uploaded to each session page after the event for the wider Open Education community to access post the event.

Sometimes it is not possible to filter out people who have joined the zoom session, even if they do not present. If you have your video or audio on in a webinar you might be recorded or seen as part of the recording, but the chat will not be shared. If you do not wish to be recorded, make sure your video is turned off. If you wish to ask a question and don’t mind your voice being shared, be sure your video is turned off when asking a question. Another option is to use the chat feature and ask the question in writing. The choice is yours.

Post Only Your Own Stuff

Of course, all CC-licensed material will be accepted as long as the conditions of each licence is abided by.
