OER Under the Hood with LibreTexts: ADAPT

Open Education Global (OEGlobal) opens a new season of its OER Under the Hood series where we take a test drive to admire the exterior features of OER. Then, like we might do with a sports car, we open the hood (or bonnet) to take a look at how it works, share how it was designed and built, and what a “driver” can do with it. These are all done as live screen share demos of the real OER, not slide deck pictures of them.

For 2026, OEGlobal is building these sessions to showcase OERs from member organizations with this session featuring our member LibreTexts.

We are pleased that the first 2026 OER Under the Hood features LibreTexts’s ADAPT an open-source homework and assessment platform integrated into the “LibreVerse.” ADAPT is flexible and works with several Learning Management systems allowing educators to create, manage, and grade assignments using its native question types as well as a huge bank of interactive activities, including ones built in WebWork, IMathAS, and H5P. You will see its use of ADAPT’s “Discuss It” for rich media discussions and personalized “Learning Trees.”

LibreTexts founder Delmar Larsen will be at the wheel for a lively and interactive session. You can learn how to explore ADAPT on your own after the show.

Comments / Questions from Chat

If these questions are embedded into the text, does it happen after remixing and after “publication” or before “publication”?

Love PhET. Are there already q’s in the library?

Is there a way to have a mix of formative and summative questions using the traditional setting?

The trees. The trees. Since 1998 I have wanted computer learning to do this. Dude, if you say 2x + 2x is 4x^2 I want to send you to the right place.

What is the app that students can use for clicker?

I enjoyed the “under the hood” zoom session. Inspired me: next step, see what y’all have for developmental level math in postsecondary, even though that’s been deemed a controlled substance in California. Welp, it’s an interesting wander and I’ve allotted an hour to it…

I think I’ll blog my wanderings ….Adapt :) | Resource Room Dot Net Blog is my summary from yesterday…
