We are currently working on the Spanish version of WikiFundi : WikiFundi/en - Meta
The WikiFundi is a software that provides off-line editing environment that mimics the Wikipedia environment. WikiFundi allows for training and contribution when technology, access and electricity outages fail or are not available at all. It enables individuals, groups and communities to learn how to edit Wikipedia, and to work on articles collaboratively. It requires a local server such as a raspberry PI which will provide a local network to which editors may contact.
Once completed and connected to the internet, the articles produced can be uploaded to Wikipedia.
Essentially, it is a MediaWiki instance, that has been made into looking as similarly to Wikipedia as possible, and can be used for training in schools. It already operate in English and French. Spanish is next step ! -
When we release WikiFundi, we also join educational resources to it from various sources. As part of that, I am hosting curated resources (so in French, English and Spanish now) related to Wikipedia, Wikimedia projects, Education, Intellectual Propery Rights and Free licences, that can be used in offline contexts and are up to date⦠Link : WikiAfrica Offline Resources/en - Meta
