I think it is great to have a list of events with such joyful hosts and interesting topics. I like to jump in some presentation from different parts of the world and I have found really great resources there.
Appealing to my faulty memory, I remember I attended my first Wikiton during OEWeek a couple of years ago, and there is where I first learned how to contribute to Wikipedia. Starting with something simple as adding a photo to an article or editing a small part of the content.
