As we have done previously for the 2022 and 2023 conferences we aim to offer a participatory space for those who are able to be In Brisbane and many more who cannot travel there for OEGlobal 2024.
What is an “AND” Conference?
This space is online and is organized around a conference, but we are not offering it as an online conference per se. We are aiming opportunities for both people In Brisbane and ones Not in Brisbane – so we are adding to the conference experience from wherever we are, not trying to replicate a conference format but augment it. Together.
Hence the name “AND Conference” inspired by the Yes, and rule of improv that we adopt so anyone can add to the conference experience, wherever they are.
The connective space is here within the area of OEG Connect created for the conference. If you are not familiar with the environment please see our guide:
Look for more tips and suggestions that will be added here to help you navigate and start to participate.
AND Conference Components
Besides OEG Connect, look soon for full details on how to participate in:
- Live video streamed conference sessions. Like previous years, key sessions will be live streamed and available to anyone for viewing, and also made available for later viewing.
- Live audio streamed conference sessions A new feature this year is a means to tune into our Conference of the Air internet radio station (more information coming soon). You might catch a live session, a recording of a previous session, and much more.
- Interact with In Brisbane Conference presenters Once the program is finalized, all sessions will be added to an area of OEG Connect where you can discussion style, post questions, comments to presenters and they can respond and offer additional resources/links related to their session.
- Share your own Projects, Works, Resources that relate to the conference theme. If you are unable to be in Brisbane, here is a way to add to the conference from your own work and region of the world. Think outside the box of “presentations” as there is not a fixed audience, but other ways to share your work (links, questions, narrative). We call it a place for “posters” but rather than a thing, you are the “poster” who posts a new topic there.
- Participate in and contribute to the Interaction Zone Look here for online activities, discussion topics, polls, for anyone interested, a place for those in Brisbane and those not in Brisbane can interact. Add your own!
But wait, there’s more! We are organizing a Pre / Unconference the week of October 28 as an opportunity to experience the conference radio station, preview sessions, participate in both live online discussion/demos and also create your own mini unconference session (e.g. be a poster).
Obviously this is happening organically, but we are trying to provide as much opportunity to “connect” to the conference experience, from Brisbane and from everywhere else.
