The Knowledge Equity Network (KEN): A call to join

Good morning friends, colleagues, peers, researchers and leaders in education.

I am at OEGlobal as a representative for the Knowledge Equity Network, also known as KEN.

The Knowledge Equity Network will create a shared community of learners, practitioners, and innovators to unlock open and equitable access to knowledge.

We believe that through the power of knowledge we will be able to reduce inequalities, and that collective intercultural creativity is crucial to generate the leadership and solutions to tackle global challenges. We will strive for equity and access for all and recommend several principles to make this possible.

The Knowledge Equity Network (KEN) is committed to advancing the principles outlined in the Declaration on Knowledge Equity.

Of course, few have the time or capacity to engage meaningfully during the packed conference and GOGN sessions, events and other activities.

This is why the University of Leeds-based team – Thom and Fiona - and I, have attached a brief but informative guide to KEN.

It’s a start to explore how you and your organisations (where possible) could get involved.

Please find attached a shareable document which includes the Declaration on Knowledge Equity, A Vision to 2030, an invitation to sign the Declaration and links to further KEN resources.

I will be available through the conference week for discussions, friendly Q&A’s, and to offer some motivation to engage.

Our mission is to get more practitioners and organisations to sign up and share the initiative.

The attached business card let’s you add my and the team’s contacts, use the QR code, please.

Please reach out and set up an online catch-up/info session, even if you wish to engage after OEGlobal.

As a recipient of this message - Please: do share this message with the wider GOGN network, and others you think may engage with the initiative. See you around, and let’s make a plan to engage in the future of education as a collective.

Regards,

Gino Fransman
