Not really a direct response to this great question, but for a wonderful resource to learn practices to support freedoms in pedagogies, bell hooks’ Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom is, of course, a go-to guide. She was heavily influenced by Paolo Freire, referenced by LoriBeth in the intro to these conversations. I love this quote from the book: “The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy.”

Thanks @JudithSebesta ! This book has now been added to my wish list. I currently wrestle with grading and ‘standards’. So much work to do, right? I look forward to reading this.
