Equity Unbound’s MYFest is back for its fifth year with a “global open education festival” (that sounds like us!) that takes place online throughout June, July & August 2026. My rule of them is to where ever possible to participate i anything Maha Bali @mahabali is organizing- that rule applies here 
I’m going to be at MYFest, how about you?
I have been involved with MYFest at some capacity every year and am eager to experience more in 2026. It is a warm and inviting place guided by Equity Unbound’s concept of Intentionally Equitable Hospitality (IEH). In that ethos participation in MYFest does not have a financial barrier and offers registration through an array of “pay what you can” levels (see registration).
I am hoping to be part of a few sessions exploring the potentials and best ideas for organizing hybrid events, and I hope as well to organize som creativity out of the DS106 Daily Creates.
Throughout June, July, and August, MYFest will invite participants to reimagine future(s) together. As always, we remain committed to the global and networked nature of our work, while also deepening our attention to embodied connection, contemplative practices, and intentional care. This year’s festival is grounded in the belief that transformation often begins in intimate, everyday spaces rather than through grand gestures alone.
We are guided by the understanding that socially just care and cultural change are built through countless small interactions and practices. Small actions shape larger systems. Local interactions ripple outward. The ways we listen, teach, imagine, support, and show up for one another ultimately influence our institutions and our collective life together.
With this spirit in mind, the following themes will guide our MYFest conversations and gatherings:
- Community building and collective reflection
- Wellbeing, restoration, and joy
- Contemplative practices for individual and collective care
- Intergenerational learning and connection ( (bring your family/friends of all ages)
- Teaching and learning with imagination
- Critical AI literacies in the age of algorithmic logic
Join us as we create space for reflection, experimentation, dialogue, and possibility together!
