Call for Survey Participation: Open Education & Social Justice at MSIs

Hello, Open Education Colleagues!

I’d like to invite you to take part in a research study which aims to gain a broad-level understanding of how library workers engaged in open education conceptualize the relationship between their work and social justice and the challenges they face in engaging in that work.

My research colleagues and I are seeking current librarians and library workers at public, 4-year, Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) who participate in open education work. (To check your institution’s MSI classification, please visit Rutger’s List of Minority Serving Institutions.) Open education work may include providing open education workshops and consultations, creating online resources, facilitating grant programs, supporting open pedagogy, etc.

The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. All data collected will be anonymous and results will be discussed and presented about only in the aggregate.

To complete the survey, please visit this link: Exploring the Challenges of Conducting Initiatives that Connect Open Education and Social Justice: Perspectives from Library Workers at Public, Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) | Qualtrics

The survey will close on March 21, 2025. We would like a broad response of library folks to this survey, so please share the survey with your professional networks.

For more information or questions about this study, please feel free to reach out to me at julia.stone@pdx.edu.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Thanks Julie for sharing this research survey- I have a hunch quite a few people here could participate- flagging definitely my colleague @heatherb who knows about everyone key in the library world. And also @chellreed at Library Futures. Well, all y’all librarian! Spread the word.

And thanks for joining OEG Connect! I hope we can count on sharing an update on this project when you are further along with the research.
