We will set up blocks of time where each day of the week Nov 10-16 you might hear different selections for the “shows” we (and you) are programming… just like regular radio you do not always know exactly what songs they will play.

Daily Programming Nov 11-16, 2024

Every day will be programmed in these blocks of times, see below for more details on the shows.

But this will be “interrupted” the days of the OEGlobal Conference Nov 13-15 with live streams from the conference in Brisbane and replays 12 hours later for the other side of the world- -see the live schedule at https://bit.ly/oeg-radio

Contributing Audio to the Programming Blocks

We are looking for more audio! There are many ways you can get it to us, if you prefer we have a Google form set up, but you can also reply below and include:

  • Links where we can download audio (drive, podcast episode, and if on YouTube we can extract it from a web link)
  • If you are recording your own voice, you can use a service like Vocaroo or Sodaphonic Boombox that allow you to make voice recordings on the web. You can just share that link.
  • Shorter audio files (MP3 or WAV less than 10Mb) can be added to OEG Connect just by dragging the file and dropping into the editor.
  • Longer files can be sent to use via our sharing email address share@oeglobal.org

Otherwise, just ask here, and we will find a way to get your audio and add it to the mix.

I think “Stories about digital storytelling: past, present, and futures: Using digital technologies to tell stories about telling stories with digital technologies. Now with AI!” would be good to replay as an example of what can happen in this format.

The blurb continues: “…pioneered digital storytelling techniques, have been leading digital storytelling workshops that employ storymapping (GIS) and “artificial intelligence” to explore possible futures for storytelling.”

I also invited Jim Groom, but he doubted he could join us because of all his Summer Camp commitments. When we went live - there he was!
The hour became the first time Jim and Joe met: they shared their origin stories of StoryCenter and ds106 and reflections on the past three decades of digital storytelling. We ran out of time before we could really explore the possible futures of digital storytelling. We should schedule a rematch!

Thanks to @catherinecronin for letting us know that Higher Education for Good can now be “heard” as an audio book with chapters read by the authors. Individual chapter audio book versions can be downloaded (scroll to the bottom of the main page).

We have added 4 chapters so far to the programmable block times this week for Conference of the Air- listen them as potential tracks in the Sounds of Openness blocks
