I heard this news mentioned in a meeting today and just confirmed from the announcement’ that after 35 years of advancing open education in the Canadian province that Campus Manitoba will be closing in June 2026.
A Chapter Closes, the Impact Remains
For 35 years, Campus Manitoba has supported Manitoba’s post-secondary landscape through collaboration, care, and shared commitment.We are now sharing an important and difficult update. Due to changes in provincial funding, Campus Manitoba will be closing its doors on June 26, 2026.
For three and a half decades, Campus Manitoba has been part of the fabric of post-secondary education in this province. It started with a simple but powerful idea: that access to education was at the heart of everything we do. From our earliest days supporting rural learners through distance education, to becoming eCourses MB, a one-stop shop for online courses from Manitoba’s universities and colleges, we grew and adapted alongside the needs of the system.
It’s not sure what it means for the OpenEd Manitoba Repository or the catalog of OER published in the Campus Manitoba PressbooksEDU Network.
