I will file this one under a “don’t miss” tag if you are wanting to hear critical thoughts on AI and writing. Bryan Alexander’s Future Forum this week features what should be a lively conversation with John Warner author of More Than Words: How to Think About Writing in the Age of AI (and look I see a 20% discount code on the store front)
John Warner is a writer, editor, speaker, and author of eight books, including Why They Can’t Write: Killing the Five-Paragraph Essay and Other Necessities (Johns Hopkins University Press) and The Writer’s Practice: Building Confidence in Your Nonfiction Writing (Penguin). John has been blogging about higher education at Inside Higher Ed for over a decade, and also writes weekly about books and reading culture.
I’d like to ask John how he see AI changing teaching, especially student writing. How should academics respond to the technology?
More importantly, you will have the chance to ask your own questions. After all, the way the Forum works is that all attendees can ask our guests questions, engage and collaborate with other leaders in education technology, and also invite friends and colleagues to join.

I heard John Warner on the Teaching in Higher Education podcast and remember how he took apart the “AI is like calculators” proposition.
I’ll be there, will you?
