It's Time For Many Things... like Thinking Ahead to Open Education Week 2025

Yes, the holidays are on the horizon, and almost here. Yet just beyond that is something very festive to think about when you return in the new year. The time is coming!

Yes, there are right now 77 days until the start of Open Education Week 2025 the annual celebration that puts open education in the world’s spotlight. This is done by sharing any events / activities you can offer, whether online or in person. Ideally these happen during the week of March 3-7, 2025, but anything happening a month on either side we will include.

Plus we run a drive to add to the global total of shared open resources. The details wil be shared when the submission forms go live on the web site January 15, 2025. But you can find plenty there now to inspire you, including last year’s grand summary.

If you have not participated before, learn more about Open Education Week. This is for everyone, organizations and individuals. You will find plenty of activities to join during this community event, and other ways to participate here in the OEG Connect space, such as previous activities based/mentioned here and a place we invite you to share more about what you experiences.

As always we are here to answer any and all of your questions.

See you soon with more information.

This is my first year administering Open Ed Week at my college. I’m excited to explore what’s available already and be inspired by what was offered last year. Any tips for a newbie?

Hi Karrianne, welcome to OEG Connect, and excited to hear you are leading the activities at Ivy Tech. As a newbie, you are demonstrating the best tip – ask for help!

I got lots of links for you

We will be making available Monday on the Open Education Seek Site the event submission form and full details for participating in 2025. You can find general info under the about page, including links to see examples of previous events. Right now you can look at the Contribution Guide and I suggest looking at the Event Organiser’s Handbook that seems mostly what you are asking for.

Make use of the Visuals Kit to add logos, animations and graphics to your materials.

We have many people here who have experience in organizing events, and I hope we can get them to chime in. But please keep asking questions, and maybe even sharing your plans/ideas here in OEG Connect.

Mostly, let me say it is great to see you here!
