In the ongoing spirit of considering the challenges of sharing, for today’s monday-connectwe ask if you can just share one link, one web address to something interesting you discovered this year during Open Education Week?
For more on this years efforts of sharing OEWeek, see
Someone has to share a link, might as well be me. I was delighted to discover the OER Quest from Selkirk College, it leads one through their OER Quest Guidebook, culiminating in an H5P interactive game challenge.
For Open Education Week, Selkirk College held a prize drawing for those who submitted entries, for a giveaway zipline adventure with the college President!
Thanks for this, Alan! One I’d highlight is from REBIUN (Spain’s Network of University Libraries):
They hosted a really strong series of sessions during Open Education Week, including:
From authorship to publication: creating and sharing open educational resources using eXeLearning, including publishing to Moodle and institutional repositories
Open Educational Practices (OEP): identifying, analyzing, designing, and depositing practices that support critical digital competencies in higher education
From innovation to practice: the long-term impact of UPV’s “Docencia en Red” initiative, with over 12,000 digital learning materials created
Supporting teaching and learning: new platforms (like UPC’s Aprèn portal) and library-led initiatives to improve virtual campus courses and increase access to open resources
What’s especially valuable is that they not only run these kinds of events during OEWeek, but consistently share new resources and updates on their website. Definitely worth keeping an eye on their work beyond OEWeek as well. There’s always something new to discover at REBIUN!
I’d also like to share an initiative led by the Knowledge Equity Network (KEN), the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS), and OELATAM|OEGlobal:
This is a webinar series focused on advancing knowledge equity and open scholarship in the Spanish-speaking world, highlighting regional leadership, fostering dialogue, and exploring practical approaches to more inclusive and equitable knowledge systems.
All sessions are in Spanish and aim to create a space that centers regional perspectives and approaches to open knowledge. Everyone is welcome. Join us in the conversation!
