New Curated Collection on OER Commons: Spanish-language OER!

Continuing the discussion from OER Commons nueva colección curada: recursos abiertos en español (in English):

Good news! We’ve created a new curated collection of OER, all written in Spanish,
to help spanish speakers find OER on OER Commons. THerae are over 1100 resources covering 80+ subjects at all grade levels!

We know that finding resources in Spanish on OER Commons can be difficult, due in part to how many resources that have been written to help English speakers learn Spanish (good on them!). Because of that, this collection brings together resources written by and for Spanish Speakers specifically. (a point of clarification here that the collection does contain resources from other languages, but only if they’ve been translated to Spanish. It does not include “Spanish 1/2/3” textbooks because, if you’ve read this far, well, aren’t you just the bee’s knees :honeybee:)

And of course, we aren’t done yet! We know there are tons more and we’re looking forward to your recommendations! If you’ve got any, or are part of an institution that has your own OER collection, send me a note and I’ll be in touch to chat about collaborating.

Many thanks to Jackie and her colleagues at at UNAM for providing the metadata for the 600 resources from CUAED!

Also, hopefully it goes without saying but just in case: OER Commons catalogs OER from everyone, everywhere, in all languages to the best of our ability!

If you have a large collection of OER that isn’t in OER Commons yet, please do reach out and I’ll be happy to chat with you about how we can bring it in efficiently and accurately

Thanks Peter for sharing this collection of Spanish-language OER, and also for referencing in our OE LATAM space!

It’s helpful as often when you look for these OER, you find them mixed with OERs about learning Spanish, rather than ones in Spanish.

This reminds me of an effort a few years back by @tannismorgan (hi Tannis) to collect OER in Other Languages (looks last one added in 2019), e.g. one I found via the site’s random link
