Congratulations to the province of Saskatchewan on launching their new provincial OER platform! Saskatchewan Launches New Open Education Resources Website | News and Media | Government of Saskatchewan
Thanks for sharing this news Clint, I saw your post elsewhere with plans to come announce, and I’m glad you did it for us!
I’ve heard for some time from @hmross about making this move- the Saskatchewan government has been funding separate OER effort at each of the three higher ed institutions, and Heather has long suggested it could be done more effectively as a shared platform/service. And I am sure she has more ideas to come.
The home of Saskatchewan Open Education Resources aka SaskOER is already open as a Pressbooks hub brining together a catalogue of 170+ OER already developed by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the University of Regina, and University of Saskatchewan.
Take a look and share a title that jumps out of you as worth exploring. For example I quickly opened An Introduction to Geological Field Trips: Case Study Avonlea Badlands, Saskatchewan (University of Regina) which I had to peak at just because Geology was my field of study, I love badlands topopraphy, and also interesting in its development as a guide for understanding geology during the pandemic when fields trips were not possible.
As someone who lives in this region, I’m proud to see this collaboration from the three hubs of OER here in the Saskatchewan Prairies, a place where openness is literally in the wide open skies here,
