We have recently developed an open course on OER and OEP for those that teach/support teaching in tertiary education, funded by the Irish Higher Education Authority. The six week, twenty-five-hour facilitated course will start on 12 October and is open to all. Those working in Ireland may also undertake a facilitator badge to conduct local rollouts of the course, though the materials will be open for all to reuse.
Course learning outcomes:
- Describe Open Educational Resources and Open Educational Practices and explain their relevance to quality, equity, and sustainability in Irish tertiary education;
- Evaluate appropriate OER and OEP approaches for teaching, learning, and assessment, considering quality, accessibility, equity, and legal and ethical dimensions;
- Identify practical and ethical considerations associated with using OER and OEP in the context of established and emerging technologies, including generative AI;
- Integrate OER and OEP appropriately into teaching, learning, and assessment within your own context and in alignment with institutional, national, and international priorities;
- Contribute to a culture of critical openness by developing, sharing, and sustaining open practices and contributing to relevant policy development
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any further questions.
