This indeed is an exciting moment in the OEAwards this year in which we have played out this ecological / gardening theme of recognition being something we initiate as “seeds”, not only the nominations that came in during May and June, but also the ways we are trying to encourage the making visible everything that was nominated.

The process of narrowing the field to an ultimate list of “winners” is indeed exciting, but I hope we have achieved my own goal of not making the final awards being the sole focus of this effort.

Thus this was the first year we not only listed all nominees early but issued all of them digital badges/certificates. You will see OEGlobal over the next months (or more) returning to share and remind the community of all the nominees, especially leading up to and during Open Education Week 2026.

And keep your eyes out soon for the events happening (very soon) for the OEGlobal 2025 Tour, with the theme “Snapshots of Open Education” with 3 days of activities, some as webinar style short talks, but also more open sharing here in OEG Connect.

And the closing of the OEGlobal 2025 Tour, Friday October 17 at 2025-10-17T17:00:00Z2025-10-17T18:30:00Z (your local time) we will have a live webcast announcement of the winners, streamed live to YouTube. They awardees are “revealed” but there are no acceptance speeches, we will have in the studio our representatives of OEGlobal and some of the review committee. So make plans to be there to watch and cheer (or watch the recording later).

I invite you to send some appreciation for one or more of the 48 Shortlisted nominees, perhaps with a reply below, but even better, use our Remixer Machine Hat Tip as Micro Recognition to create a message to one or more of those on either list.

Get ready for more remixer machine activity during the OEGlobal tour!
