OEG Voices 080: Bryan Mathers on the Fabulous Remixer Machine

Join us for a visit inside to design studio Bryan Mathers, all from a “shed” outside of London, located on an “an island off the east coast of Ireland.” As you will hear in his voice, we are in a playful creative space, where amongst many outputs is the Fabulous Remixer Machine, recognized with a 2024 Open Education Award for Excellence in the category of Remix / Reuse /Adaptation. The founder of Visual Thinkery, Bryan has an uncanny skill at identifying major ideas and concepts, which he then renders as an illustration, just in the process of an open conversation.…

I must give a doff of the flat cap to @VisualThinkery for again preforming that miracle of sitting in conversation with me for episode 80 of OEG Voices (please anyone reading this, go listen now!) and out of what I felt was rambling talk, creating the Hat Tip Remixer we can all use.

A cartoon purple hand lifts a bright green flat hat as a "Cap Doff" or "hat tip" sent to To The Root Remixer, Bryan Mathers, for the podcast where this idea emerged and becomes this ongoing act. Remix it forward!.

We are hopeful many of you will take few minutes to thik of someone who has helped/supported you, inspired you, or done anything in our open education work that deserves a small expression of gratitude.

Just go to the Hat Tip as Gratitude & Micro-recognition Gallery and remix the starting content with new colors, hat choice, and a custom message of appreciation. You do not have to share publicly, just send it to someone as an email, a message just to say “thanks”.

Gratitude and appreciation-- remix it forward with a hat tip.
