L’Université Numérique federates French Digital Thematic Universities in Humanities & Foreign languages, Management and Economics, Science and Technology, Medicine as well as Sustainable Development.
Launched by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation they are focused on OERs and digital transformation in Higher Education Institutions, and are involved in collaborative projects with international partners (universities, virtual universities, ministries for Higher Education, UNESCO, companies).
Jacques, thanks so much for your sponsorship of the OEGlobal 2021 conference and for L’Université Numérique’s membership in OEGlobal. As an organization we aim to connect local to global open education initiatives and want to do this in ways that embrace multi-lingual and multi-culturalism. We really appreciate having such a strong Francophone partner.
I’m really impressed with the way L’Université Numérique (the Digital University) brings together six French thematic digital universities in a collaboration providing teachers and students with open educational resources. I’ve been exploring the Sup-Numerique (digital portal in higher education) which impressively has 29,169 resources. I especially like the range of resource types from courses, to case studies, to animations, simulations, exams and beyond. It makes it easier to adopt open education when resources are offered at a level of granularity smaller than an entire course.
Congratulations on modelling a system collaboration involving multiple universities working together to advance open education.
