Our featured project will be Introduction to Welding, a richly illustrated open textbook developed through the Washington Open ProfTech project. Created by experienced instructors, the book introduces students to welding careers, safety practices, tools, welding techniques, cutting processes, inspection, and materials—designed to meet the needs of learners and align with real-world industry expectations.

I was there for a planning session yesterday with @heatherb and our welding instructors and authors Douglas and David, and can say this is going to be a really great conversation and look under the hood into the creation of Introduction to Welding.

As a bonus for anyone here, Ashley Montenegro Ramirez, project manager from the Community and Technical Colleges of Washington, shared that all of the open licensed images used in the book (more than 200(), have also been made available as a collection in Flickr.
