[Sharing is a challenge] #Conclusion The Series Comes to an End, the Sharing Continues by Colin de la Higuera

This brings our daily series to a close, with this concluding piece by Colin de la Higuera, who takes a look behind the scenes of this series, the lessons to be learnt, and offers a brief summary of the key ideas that emerge from the articles.

We – Colin (@cdlh), Lucie, Solenn and I – would like to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who took part in this project: naturally, the authors who provided us with such high-quality content, but also the proofreaders, thanks to whom we are able to offer all the articles in three languages (English, French and Spanish), the technical staff who helped ensure the smooth running of the multilingual publication process, and everyone who took the time to read and share these articles!

We hope you have enjoyed them, and that their content will prove useful to you in your personal reflections, awareness-raising activities, or in other contexts. All content is openly licensed, so please feel free to share it. If you do, please let us know, we would really appreciate it!

We are currently looking into the possibility of creating an open textbook compiling the various articles. Summary articles will also be published shortly on our blogs. If you would like to review all the posts now, please do visit the dedicated page on the OEWeek website. A big thank you to @cogdog for it!

“Sharing is a challenge”: the Series Comes to an End, the Sharing Continues by Colin de la Higuera

As Open Education Month draws to a close, the series “Sharing is a Challenge” comes to an end. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible — authors, translators, proofreaders and partners. The 14 male and 16 female authors from 15 countries have written 17 articles in 6 languages: proof that sharing is complex, dynamic and deeply collective. A conclusion… that above all opens the way for what lies ahead.

We are going to need a little break, but maybe see you next year…

I am happy to see the “end” of the series framed as just the beginning of more to do. Maybe the best parts was the interconnections and multiple voices as Colin wrote.

And what comes next comes should come not from your team but more collectively. I’d like to think we can sustain more conversations and discussions maybe a published volume will help.

I cannot help but smile to see the carrot sharing image, one I recognized and surely used before.

Please, please Always Be Attributing!

Yes, you are right! We would be more than happy if this series foster further discussion and collaboration.

As part of our work at Nantes University and EUniWell, we will likely draw on this in our awareness-raising and capacity-building activities, just as we did with the Open Education Diamond Game, which is based on the 23 Good Reasons for Open Education.

Regarding the compilation in an open textbook, it is something we had planned to do from the beginning, so we have already started working on it. But of course, as all the material is openly licensed, we encourage anyone to reuse and redistribute it.

Oh, is there a missing attribution somewhere?

Oh no, I meant that as advice more to everyone as a general practice! Your attributions have been ideal.
