Thank you for the Snapshot Talk @nahidtaheri - I added a Field Note remix for Darakht-E Danesh!

Darakht-e danesh Field Notes

The DD Courses are published via Moodle, correct? I’ve heard that Moodle has built in a feature that course content can be loaded onto a mobile device so work can be done offline by learners and is synchronized when they return to a center with internet access. Is this used?

I did hear you mention that there was exploration for more offline internet capability, how is that being done?

The resources look like stand along lesson plans via PDF? I am peeking in at one for learning about the layers of the atmosphere. Is the focus on the library for resources for teachers?

Again, I applaud your organization’s effort to bring open educational opportunities to Afghan educators and students.

Hi Alan,

Thank you very much for the opportunity, it was a very great event.

Darakht-e Danesh courses are offered in a Moodle-based platform. Offline courses are supported on the Moodle mobile application. We use the offline learning feature on the Moodle app, both for DD Classroom and DD Courses, but more so on DD Classroom. The courses are downloaded and can be taken offline. Progress is then synced when the device is online.

Currently, we are also considering some other strategies to make sure courses and library resources are available offline.

Our library resources serve all levels of learning, from early childhood to professional and continuing education. We are offering resources lesson plans, teaching tools, exercises, readings, and curricula for educators as well. But, that is not our only focus.
