What’s of interest? CC License Guidance in the Age of AI - Creative Commons
More details (Unless otherwise noted, this description is copied directly from the tagged web site)
AI is changing how people create, share, and reuse content and data. It also raises new questions about how creators and rightsholders want their work to be used. But AI does not change what CC licenses are designed to do: communicate copyright permissions where copyright applies.
So we went back to our previous guidance and asked, “Does this still hold up?”
The short answer is: yes.
We continue to recommend using the most flexible CC license that meets your sharing goals. In some cases, a more restrictive license may be necessary. But a more restrictive license may also limit human reuse without preventing AI use, since many AI uses may fall outside copyright’s scope.
This guidance explains why, and what, CC licenses currently can and cannot do in relation to AI. It also describes the broader work we’re building to address needs that fall outside the scope of copyright licensing.
