What’s of interest? Street Art for Ukraine (14 Photos) - STREET ART UTOPIA
Tell me more!
Since Russia invaded Ukraine street artists worldwide have wielded their brushes and spray paints, creating a powerful collection of anti-war murals and protest art.
These artists visually express their resistance to the war in Ukraine and advocate for fundamental human rights and values.
We’ve curated a collection of street art by artists who dedicate their creative talents to supporting peace in Ukraine. These striking pieces serve as reminders of the human cost of war while displaying solidarity against the conflict in Ukraine, often alongside fundraising efforts.
This is one among many items I will regularly tag in Pinboard as oegconnect, and automatically post tagged as #OEGConnect to Mastodon. Do you know of something else we should share like this? Just reply below and we will check it out.
These are powerful images, I enjoyed seeing them and hope you are inspired to share. Which one is most evocative to you?
I am only describing as the images are not openly licensed to share, so go look at the Street Art Utopia site linked above.
The one of the child clutching the teddy bear painting a peace sign in a wall covered in bullet holes grabbed my attention it’s by an LA street artist name HIJACK who’s work has a bit of a Banksy like feel to it.
I was also drawn to the large image of the eye- this is by My Dog Sighs (see in Instagram) which I believe is in Cardiff Wales (exactl location below) – wondering if we might arm twist @MWeller and @mdeepwell to visit and share a street photo?
We’ve all sat and watched this hideous situation unfurl and while it’s not much, I wanted to do what I know best, (throwing paint) to highlight my sadness and anger over the Ukrainian invasion by Russia.
I used two images to create the silhouette, the first, the beautiful place in the centre of Kyiv and the second a powerful photo that came up on my Twitter feed this morning of last nights attack.
The tear speaks for itself. A horrid horrid situation.

I don’t stand with either side, but I recognize the US has been backing Ukrainian Nazis since the end of WWII. My only enemies are the imperialists in the US government.
The UN’s OSCE tracked Ukrainian shelling of the Donbass region for eight years. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend.
“Five days after extreme right-wing Ukrainian gangs burned alive 48 Russian speakers in a trades union building in Odessa, two of the Eastern provinces declared independence from Ukraine and took over government buildings.
With U.S. backing, the unconstitutional government on April 16, 2014 launched a military attack against those two provinces in the Donbass region.”
