The publication of two open access books by the Diamond open access publisher Open Book Publishers stimulates this webinar to explore openness and equity in the distribution of knowledge.
The session will include presentations from an international cast from Australia, Germany, Mexico, Nigeria, UK, and Ukraine.
We will discuss topics such as: how openness can contribute to equity in access to education and the production of knowledge, how open infrastructure can offer new models of education, the creation of the ‘University without walls’ as a crisis response, the need to consider the politics of open, and a new framework for the distribution of open science. Presentations will be very short to allow a discussion of possible next steps in advocating for these ideas to transform higher education.
