I heard through the social streams that OEG Advocate and regular participant here Derek Moore @Weblearning has earned a fellowship to be a resident Wikimedian in South Africa from the African Wikipedian Alliance (AWA) 2026 Inclusion Project.
That seemed more than enough to use our Hat Tip Remixer to send a congratulations to Derek.

From his post, Derek’s work will be
supporting experienced Wikimedians with closing content gaps, organizing edit-a-thons, facilitate technical training, and establish partnerships with organisations dedicated to strengthening ecosystem defense in the fellowship’s thematic focus in Southern Africa countries.
Derek told me that for anyone in South Africa who needs some Wikimedia assistance, to please reach out to him. I urge you to take up that offer.
