Collaboration Request: are you interested in racial equity in education?

Dear colleagues,

I am presently seeking collaborators for an upcoming research project.

The project will assess the extent to which AI tools can be used to support the work of decision makers interested in racial equity. If funded, we expect to commence in 2026.

I’m building a consultation group of international scholars, experts and policymakers who can contribute feedback and advice on the development of our prototype system.

The commitment is small - perhaps 4-6 hours over the course of the project. We would intermittently seek input and might hold some online focus groups. Mostly we would be interested in gathering suggestions for iteratively improving the system.

We will be working with fine people across a range of countries, and actively seek diverse perspectives on racial equity. Examples of a good fit might include:

  • Critical race and equity scholars
  • National or regional government representatives with an interest in racial equity in education
  • Experts in inclusive data practices
  • Community based organisations
  • Educators involved with implementing anti-racist or intersectional pedagogies

We’re happy to work with people anywhere in the world!

If you’d like to know more, then drop me a line via rob.farrow@open.ac.uk.

We will be seeking letters of support by the 13th June 2025.

Thanks!
