I’d like to let everyone know that I have been testing the OER Repository search engine and have created an English user guide based on the original Japanese GitHub version. It is now available at the link below. I hope this will help the English-speaking community find OER materials in Japan more easily and quickly.
Thank you Doug for sharing this guide to using the Japan OER Repository which was released and mentioned in a 2024 Board Viewpoint post by former OEG Board member @Katsu . This is a nice example of an OER created to support the use of an Open Education platform ( I am moving this to a new topic since it’s new news!)
It might be interesting to ask some folks here to make use of the guide and explore the repository (I am mulling how to do that as a new activity here).
I would also draw some attention to the OERStudio site Doug has been working on as a showcase of the Japan Open Textbook Publishing Consortium (日本オープン教科書出版コンソーシアム) . To me this looks like some effort worthy of an Open Education Award this year, nominations open May 11 (hint hint)
