:async: MOOCs And Personalized Learning Experience

Thanks for publishing for presentation video and slides, and I too am curious about how the personal levels of interaction in open online courses factor into the learner experience.

I would agree that completion is not always the best measure of what learners get out of a course, especially when they arrive with a wide range of desired outcomes.

I question if the format of the course (xMOOC/cMOOC/SPOC) is the major factor compared to instructor presence (which can be limited when it’s only email and forums) and the design of the course. Like can we compare the popular ModPo (Modern Poetry) Coursera course versus say another perhaps Engineering course on the same platform?
