I’m hardly alone in enjoying sharing photos when I travel to a conference and very much regret not being there with my camera at OEGlobal26 or being able to capture the setting on and near MIT. And indeed there will be professional photographers getting the high end shots, but I’m always keen for the view from participants.
Of course we anticipate a steady stream of conference photos being shared in social media, but we are looking for anyone interested in sharing a few of their favorites as we try to “participant-source” what the conference activity looks like.
Calling on all photographers aka anyone with a photo taking device to be our “eyes” at the conference, be it in Cambridge, at the satellite event in Vancouver, or wherever you are participating online, show us your experience in pictures.
Sign up to share! and the simple instructions will be on their way to you.
We are using an low tech method of sharing (just email us a few photos as attachments) with a few gizmos added to move the photos. Just a few pictures a day will help to capture the experience, be it the sessions, the between session gatherings, the venue, where you go exploring outside of the program hours, and just what you see as interesting.
Shared photos will be reviewed and published to the OEGlobal Flickr account, fully attributed to you the photographer, and also shared under a CC BY-SA license. As fast as we can we will post photos to a flickr album for each day, plus one for “before” conference scenes (already a few are available from our OEGlobal advance team)

- OEGlobal26: Day 2 as Seen by Participants
- OEGlobal26: Day 3 as Seen by Participants
If you post your photos elsewhere to some online space where they are openly licensed, please share your link as a reply so we can track and share them. Or if you just want to share photos here in a reply, we welcome them too. Any way you can share is good.
Help us build a visual representation of the conference experience as seen from your perspectives!
