Thank you Gino for being brave enough (which describes you minimally) to add a new activity here. I might use “meet up” over “hook up” but I love the idea of sharing the moments of meeting each other.
I’d have to go primarily to OEGlobal 2023 in Edmonton, as it was the very first OEGlobal conference ever, plus the first post pandemic travel. I happened to meet this shy young man the pre-conference workshop at Fort Edmonton.
The very first conference person I met in the mob checking into the hotel was the very familiar from working online for the Conference in Nantes, @cdlh and just the same in person
There was a moment in the lobby there saying hello to so many people-- we are all the same height in zoom (one square) but in person, oh the variety.

Perhaps the most expressive moment I was lucky to snap was last November in Brisbane for OEGlobal 2024, this moment of over the top happy meeting between @grantpotter and @joergelp
