The OER World Map: Current developments

the OER World Map has now visible changes in the User Interface. To improve your user experience with the OER World Map we extended the map and are now using the whole screen to better showcasing all the content on the map. To do this we had to move search box and quick filter options.

Browse, search, find or filter the OER World Map

To browse the map, you can click on a specific country. The Map will then zoom in automatically to a state or region view. Now you can easily klick on one of the entries (dots on the map) to view them. To see recent activities on the map, klick on the menu tab recent.

To search the map for specific actors and activities you can use the search box. The Search box is now more visible in front of the blue bar of the main menu in the upper corner.

To find actors and activities on the Map go to the menu tab find. Hover with your curser over the menu tab find and the menu tab will open. Klick on lighthouses or most liked or on one of the many options under the categories: organization, person, service, policy, project, tool or event. Are you e. g. looking for fellow teachers or researchers to exchange experience, then click on teachers (person). You will now see only entries on teachers.

To filter for specific actors and activities you can either use the quick filter icons. You find them on the left side in the lower corner. Or use the advanced filter function, which you can open by clicking on the arrow on the left upper corner. There you can filter e.g. for primary sector, subject or field of activity.

How do you like the browse, search, find and filter options on the map so far? We are always thankful for feedback about your experience.

Thank you please send link to the map so that I can use it interactively

Thanks for pointing out the missing link. You can now find it in the text.

Thank you Susanne for sharing these new interface features and it is very encouraging to watch the return of the OER World Map.

I would imagine there is interest in getting people to add new information to the map and/or updating older data from the previous version.

I very much hope we can coordinate a future OEGlobal Live webcast to demonstrate the new map and work together to have more dots added (I just created my account and bio, so I must be “on the map”)!

I hope more readers here explore the new OER World Map at https://oerworldmap.org/
