Earlier today we were fortunate to have @SusanneGrimm provide Wednesdays Demo Live tour of the OER World Map. She recently shared in OEG Connect updates on the project so we thought it timely to give you a tour.
And to make a challenge for OEGlobal24 Here’s the replay of today’s demo:
As we saw, there is quite a lot that ought be added to the Australia region (and elsewhere), and you can make that happen.
The starting point is creating a profile / account at the OER World Map (so you are on the map). Then from there you can add resources, events, presentations to the map as well. In a way, I saw it quite Wiki like, in that you can edit any information that you can see needs more detail.
For example, I noted the entry for the 2024 OEGlobal Conference was located in the center of Australia (I’d love to travel there, but not on this trip), so as a logged in user, I was able to update the location with more specific detail to get the dot over in Brisbane.
Once logged in, for events like this, you can add yourself as an attendee and/or a presenter.
There’s much to be added of course, so Susanne and the OER World Map team is challenging us over the next few weeks to make sure the map, not just in Australia, but everywhere gets covered in many more dots.
She might even reply with an incentive
Explore and add to the OER World Map.
