UNESCO Digital Learning Week: Webcast Plenaries Live from Paris

UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week 2025 is taking place September 2-5 in Paris. OEglobal’s Executive Directors @marcela and @igorlesko will be there as well as many members of the OEGlobal Board, and very likely many more from the community.

The theme is… surprise… " AI and the future of education: Disruptions, dilemmas and directions"

The increasing integration of AI into education presents both transformative opportunities and complex challenges, reshaping pedagogies, curricula and education governance while raising critical questions about equity, ethics and human agency. As debates swirl over AI’s disruptive potential — ranging from hyperbolic promises to more cautionary approaches — education systems must navigate dilemmas, including the implications of digital surveillance, systemic biases and the potential erosion of human accountability in education decision-making to recalibrate positive new directions for education futures.

Under the theme “AI and the future of education: Disruptions, dilemmas and directions”, Digital Learning Week 2025 will assist in charting pathways for equitable, ethical and human-driven AI integration in education, ensuring technology serves as a force for inclusive progress.

There will be much to see every day live streamed, at least 4 or 5 sessions per day, too many to list but see the sessions and times in the Provisional agenda (unfortunately I am unable to copy paste any of the text). There are many panels covering all the issues and as well with others on regional focus.

According to information elsewhere, no registration is required to watch the live streams, and links to view will be added to the agenda.

Watch the program and see more information at https://www.unesco.org/en/weeks/digital-learning

Obviously this will be a packed week of activity. Maybe we can harness the collective presence of the community members who will bne there in person to provide any kind of quick updates, photos, links, ideas they hear while attending Digital Learning Week?

Who here is attending and would be willing to share even maybe just a short update when you can? Can we count on you @marcela @igorlesko and the other OEG board members to lead the way and keep us updated?

Reply here to at least let us know if you are attending Digital Learning Week, and we will cast some calls for updates tagged digitallearningweek

This is an event offered by and for the open education community. If you are logged into OEG Connect, return to the main OE Events space where you can add your own event as a new topic

Midnight starting times in California.
I may catch some keynotes at 5 am, with enough coffee. Wink_goatee_64x64

Coffee is on me! Blame Paris. The late afternoon sessions are viable, especially Monday? Converted for local time…

Still keen to hear updates from those who are there.

I am catching up now- it looks like the archive is one long video for all live streams. As a quick guide, I have aimed to link to the starts of the first day’s live streamed sessions:
