Workforce Area Curriculum Share

Being a retired community college instructor, I have over 20 years of teaching and have created learning materials that include practical and workplace-oriented skills topic videos that I wish to share. My question is:

Does anyone know of an on-line depository that I could use to upload these and other training materials to?

I’m thinking that these could also be of use in the developing world whereby textbooks may be beyond financial reach of learners wanting or needing such training. Under the correct organizational structure, these learning materials could be used by Education Facilitators rather than “Subject Matter Experts” as a way to provide the necessary foundational skills required for work in the various technologies.

oercommons.org is a site for open educational resources; I don’t know if they handle video files but I have uploaded links to my videos that I house on my site.

I was going to recommend OER Commons as well.

For videos, Vimeo and (of course) Youtube are popular hosting sites. Vimeo lets you choose from all CC licensese, Youtube only offers CC-BY.

I’d be cautious on Vimeo, they recently laid off their video team.

If you have content on Vimeo I’d be sure to have copies of original source video. I rue that never got content that was on blip.tv before they went under (oh and Flip video too).

Knowledge Commons is another option: https://hcommons.org/ - every work is issued a DOI which is a really nice feature.

Hey JohnK,

You can use Kolibri, widely used by educators around the world. You can find it here: https://studio.learningequality.org/ If you get challenges, please reach out. I will be ready to support.
