Yes, it’s me, Alan, stirring up activity here. As we get ready for the first wave of a pre-conference series of online activities, I’d like to encourage people to reply to any of the activities here in the Interaction Zone as a way of introducing yourself.

Well heck, someone has to reply, why not reply to myself? I am responsible for most of the noise in this OEG Connect Space. You can change that by making joining in the endless. number of topics here.

I am fortunate this year to be IB, In Brisbane. Not the first time in Australia (maybe 8th?), nor first time IB.

A memory- my first trip to this country in 2000, I landed bleary eyed in Sydney after a long trip over the Pacific from Los Angeles. I sought coffee. When I asked for one, I was a bit stunned by the question, “What kind of coffee do you want?”

My blank face prompted the helpful explanation of the choices- Flat White. Long Black, Short Black. Piccolo. More I forget now.

I quickly caught on.
