How to Remix Your Own Postcard

This tool is made available via the Fabulous Remixer Machine by @VisualThinkery. You can just start changing the one we created as a template

Use the tools under “Attach Photo” to add your own photo- this can be a screenshot of a web site, but it also might be a photo the location of where open education happens in your location (a campus, a classroom, a public library), or even what it looks like in action (students working, faculty collaborating). Use what ever image best represents what you are sharing.

Click to edit the caption- there is not much room, so use the space well! You might edit the TO field (“Open Educators Everywhere”) to specify who might be interested e,g, “OER Librarians” or “Physics Educators”.

Finally, use the FROM field to let the community know your location, e.g. city and country.

That is all the work you have to do. Click Publish to save (when you publish, there is an extra field for Remixer’s Notes, you can use this to insert attribution for images or other comments).

When you publish a postcard, it joins a collection of other cards listed below in the gallery, but you can also download it as an image.

“Not Much Fits on a Postcard!”

No, you cannot say nearly enough on the card. But once you have saved your postcard image, we invite you to add much more by sharing it as a reply to a topic for the Region it is associated with:

When you click that Reply button, you can write as much as you want, but also upload your postcard image by either dragging it from your desktop to the post editor or using the upload button in the editing window.

In the next of a reply, you can add much, much more such as a more detailed description, web links, more images, even embed videos. Now your postcard has much more information to share!

But even better, when shared here in the OEG Connect space, other tour participants can reply with questions, comments, all making this a lively space.

We hope you are inspired to create one or more digital postcard remixes. Are you ready to remix? Start here.
