Hi! I did not get your first name, but thank you for your response.
So my first starting point is that I am attending a week-long American Association of Italian Studies Conference (AAIS) where I am learning and re-learning about Italian films, videos and authors. Second, I am watching a talk about some Italian OER created by Leisawitz & Taub-Pervizpour. Third, I had planned to take a course on Integrating Culture and Language into the second-language classroom through CARLA, but unfortunately that summer institute is full. I have some other plans of participating in multiple ACTFL workshops and will read multiple books and articles.
I would love to learn about any Italian OER that you might know about! I am most interested in materials that integrate culture with language. I am very interested in locating authentic texts such a short films, books and more that are available to use and integrate into OER. So if you have absolutely any resources that you would like to share with me, please do so. I have done some searches on OER Repositories over the years, and will go back and do that again using repositories listed on pages such as OER Repositories ā CCCOER
My previous experience with OER, is that I have co-created OER ancillaries that were more linguistic in focus; these ancillaries were created to support students using a specific low-cost textbook in an Italian 101 course (CCC-OERI). This resulted in a major decrease in textbook prices from $175 a book to $35 a book. This time, I want to create OER materials that integrate culture and language and that promote culturally responsive teaching and accessibility, and I am looking for authentic texts that I can integrate into my work.
Thank you, again!
