OER Student Specialists - Supporting and Sustaining OER at the Community College Level :async:

Alexa Johnson (College of the Canyons), Jessica Parsons (Paradise Valley Community College), Philip Root (Scottsdale Community College), Alyssa Ortiz (Scottsdale Community College), Jason Zamora (Scottsdale Community College)

This session will offer a presentation with background information on the development of an OER Student Specialist program and how it has spread to other institutions. Learn about how the College of the Canyons, California, United States of America, started this program and then shared their work at conferences in the past. Their sharing led to the adoption of this model at two community colleges in the state of Arizona, United States of America. These two-year colleges utilize faculty and student OER specialists to support OER adoption, adaptation, and creation, each in their own way! Then, if you think the OER Specialist model would help support and sustain OER at your institution, connect with the presenters asynchronously through an asynchronous forum that will engage you in forming collaborative partnerships and planning collective action to adapt the OER specialist model at your institution!
