Hi my name is Mpine Makoe, a Commonwealth of Learning Chair in OER/OEP at the University of South Africa and an OER Ambassador for the International Council for Distance Education.

I’ll be chairing this session building capacity where colleagues will be sharing their experiences in using OERs to develop capacity. Please join us to listen to these very interesting papers. Kelly and Maryanne will share their project on empowering girls to pursue STEM in Africa; Gerry will share his research on supporting career and technical education to move online; Olena and Susan’s paper will focus on Faculty development as capacity building strategy; Verena and Nicole will share their research on #OpenVoices project; Bryan and Christina will report on how the went about building capacity for OER use and creation the faculty at Penn State University. We hope that you’ll actively engage with presenters by posting your question on the chat.
